Can't remove icons from home screen

Hi there,
I recently purchased a fire HD and love it, however one thing I am NOT happy with is I can't seem to remove program/game icons from the main home screen unless I completely uninstall it. Is that normal? If I pay to get rid of the ads will I get more accessibility as to what stays on my home screen? For the record I am not referring to all of the things Amazon loaded on here. Those I have in their own folder. I am referring to items I have downloaded and installed.

yes that's how it works, installed apps on the home, screen, I'm not sure why its a problem, unless you are particulary find the the lake district photo?

if you want to declutter the picture, put nova launcher on it. That gives you a nearly blank picture, with an icon that takes you to a,separate page, for your, apps. I found the extra, click to get to my apps annoying , but it does what you require

hello,
follow these steps
step 1
apprehend Android's obstacles. for the reason that exclusive manufacturers implement distinctive menu options for his or her Androids, your cellphone (or pill) won't have the potential to delete app icons from the house display screen.
2
unencumber your Android's display. Press the "Lock" button, then enter your passcode, PIN, or pattern to unlock the display.
3
visit a distinct display screen if vital. when you have more than one home display pages, swipe right to scroll via the pages until you arrive at the page on which the icon which you need to get rid of is living.
four
discover an icon that you need to do away with. remember that the icons on the home screen are hyperlinks to the pertaining apps, no longer apps themselves—removing an app icon will no longer cast off the app out of your Android's App Drawer.
five
attempt long-pressing an app icon. some Android developers placed a menu choice for removing apps in a protracted-press menu, so faucet and keep the app to see if a menu pops up.
6
choose the "cast off" or "Delete" alternative. inside the menu, look for the best option to do away with the app icon; in case you see one, tap it to do so.
in case you don't see a "get rid of" or "Delete" alternative, bypass this step.
7
faucet and drag the app up to the top of the screen. if you do not see a menu pop up while you long-press the app, look for a "eliminate" or "Delete" option at the top of the display screen; in case you see one, attempt dragging the app as much as the top of the display screen and freeing it there.
skip this step if there is not a "eliminate" or "Delete" alternative at the top of the screen.
8
move apps to a exclusive domestic screen. in case you don't see a "Delete" or "remove" option anywhere, faucet and drag the app icon that you need to cover over to the a long way-right edge of the screen, maintain it there till the display screen scrolls over to a one of a kind domestic web page, and drop the app there. This may not remove the app icon from the home display screen format, however it will hide the app icon from the main home display screen.
