Kindle e-reader or fire ?

Hi
This my first time here so hello to everyone
I have had my kindle for a while now so this might seem a bit of a daft question.
I am about to buy my wife a  kindle and I'm not sure which one to get.
She loves reading but likes to surf the net so I'm trying to weigh up my options.
The e-reader one or the kindle fire...I know with fire you can access
the internet but I'm not sure if she would use it for that.
Any thoughts welcome
Derek

RE: Kindle e-reader or fire ?

It all depends on what you want it for. I had a keyboard kindle which is now ancient but still works fine. I got a Nexus and downloaded the Kindle app. It was much better for taking notes. After four years I moved on to a Fire. I love it because I can make notes, Google things, check email, all from this device.

Me too - I've used my Kindle fire a lot more than I expected, having first bought it as a lightweight way of writing a live travel blog. I even bought a second, cheaper one last year to take into hospital with me but didn't have any passwords saved on it but downloaded music, books and a couple of games beforehand. I still have a Kindle ereader as well as it's thin enough to squeeze into a small handbag for going into town on the bus.

if she needs just a book then kindle e-reader. I also have a reader and that's great, but I bought it 5 years ago. maybe that will be more useful to have the kindle fire. but in that case, maybe you should search a more powerful tablet computer such as samsung galaxy or ipad?

however the best gadgets are too expensive, there's an opportunity to get it without high expenses. you ask me, how could it be? it also surprised me, but I've read an article what is drakemall and it seems like it's possible

I think it a great idea to keep your kindle for reading exclusively, for browsing you better go with ipad. I still own the very 1st gen of ipad and it works fine.
