The one thing I *DO* miss about real books, is that I'm a sucker for a nice cover, or a well put-together edition of a book.

For example, I saw the new Derren Brown book in HMV over Christmas, it really caught my eye because they'd gone out of their way to make it look different, not just the cover, but the red edging of the pages too...

Another example is Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell - I only picked that book up because the cover design appealled to me.

It's also the one thing I like about the Sony eReaders, in that they let you browse your books by cover, rather than from a list...

I like the Apple iBooks apps for that, seeing all the book covers on the shelves, it looks really good. Browsing by covers is a much nice user experience than looking at endless lists. I'm surprised that Kindle hasn't introduced a similar way of displaying our books, after all the images are already there in the files. Ok they won't be the full glossy images of an iPad but even in monochrome some of them still look great.

You can share to some degree, although this may be frowned upon. Just hook your kindle up to your computer, open the folder where the 'book' is saved, copy it to your pc and then you can put it on somebody else's kindle Smile i do this with my friends.
