RE: Hi, I'm the site admin

Lou

Not sure whether you have now received your Kindle or perhaps not too long to wait!

I'm sure you will not be disappointed, I have the 3G with Red Kindle cover with light. Very pleased with it and it has been in constant use since it arrived. My good lady has the Wi-Fi only version with the blue case and she is now onto book 4 in the Conan Doyle collection, so I think she is also pleased with it.

I find myself bookmarking future reads on the Amazon Kindle Books, I can become addictive, as is asking publishers to put their paper books onto the Kindle format.

Regards

What I Read

RE: Hi, I'm the site admin

Hi Ian,

I've received mine a little while back and am loving it. Like everyone else I have a mountain of books to read and just keep finding more Smile

The one thing I haven't done yet is get a cover. I'm waiting for a good looking 3rd party one at a sensible price; I think that some are due to be released at the end of September fingers crossed.

Have to say that I have been very impressed with the 3G coverage in the places I've been. Well worth the extra £40

RE: Hi, I'm the site admin

Hi I'm also the happy new owner of a Kindle 3. I know my username is a bit of overkill on a site all about the Kindle, but I love the alliteration and balance of our two names combined (and I can resurrect my childhood nickname of KK!)

I received mine on Thursday and have spent the time since either playing with it, reading from it or making a cover for it. (I'm making a quilted one using some fabric I have been dying to use - a wildly busy print - and I have to get it finished before a long train trip I'm making next week so my Kindle is safe.)

My Kindle is officially a present for my birthday on Wednesday, but I've been telling the gift-givers that I need to try it out now in case I want to return it within the seven days return period (of course I'm not returning it, but it's a great excuse not to have to wait!)

Hi KK, Welcome to the Forum. My Kindle was a Christmas present, so I had to do even more negotiating. Glad you are enjoying your kindle. Hopefully this Forum will give you lots of ideas.

Have you thought about going into production with your covers? Maybe KUF ones? Perhaps not.
That is a good book which is opened with expectation and closed with profit.

Lou

Glad to hear you enjoy science fiction. have you read any of Alistair Reynolds, Ian M Banks or say Kim Stanley Reynolds' Mars trilogy?

There are some very good writers around and I'm always on the lookout for something newSmile

Thank you for your welcome! I've finished my cover and am pretty pleased with it. I would go into production, but I doubt anyone would be prepared to pay for the time I put into mine! I'm loving my Kindle - just wish there were more hours in the day to spend reading on it.
