Welcome travelbug. It's a very friendly forum and I've found lots of help here. I'm not very techy and I still have one of the first types of Kindle which seems to work well - so if it ain't broke, I hang on to it. But you'll find lots of people on here who know all about the best-buys. Hang on in there as they may all be out Christmas shopping.

Hi and welcome.
Go for the Paperwhite. It's just fab carrying on reading and not having to get up to turn the light on. Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin
Hedgehogs are waking up now, so put some water and seeds out for them, they'll reward you with a calling card.
While you are at it, water and feed the birds too. Thumbs Up And come and talk about it at GardenWildlifeUK

What I Read

RE: Hi!

Hello and welcome to the forum Travelbug.

I have had several Kindles over the years and would say to go for the Paperwhite if you want a really good reading experience. The battery lasts for ages between charges and the built in light is brilliant if you read in bed and don't want to wake the other half. Also there is no glare at all if you want to read outside on a sunny day. Let us know what you decide to do, there are plenty of suggestions of books from the lovely authors on the forum.
Only happy when I am immersed in a good Kindle book Thumbs Up

I love travelling but sadly unable to do so much now! I'm very keen to get the paperwhite so think I will wait until after Christmas and hopefully get a good bargain! Do you use a paperwhite Cathy?

I have a very old keyboard Kindle and a new Fire, which I really love. My sister has a paperwhite which has to be prised from her hand with a tyre-lever!
