According to Amazon: Whether you choose to read with your left or right hand, Kindle Oasis automatically rotates the page orientation to match.

Unfortunately it can't rotate the position of the buttons. Angry
Yes it can. You can set either button to page forward or back, and it'll keep that when you flip from hand to hand. So if you choose the top button to page forward, when you turn it around to swap it to your left hand, it'll still be the top button you press to page forward. Pretty ingenious.

The price is just scary though...... But even then, you have to look it at as being of interest to people would would buy a Voyage with the official Amazon cover. So it only works out at £50 extra for the newer, lighter, shinier model. Not for me, it's way too expensive and I haven't even splurged on the Voyage yet, but there will be some avid readers who will snap it up. I do think there are a lot of people who are disappointed about the lack of audio, a high end Kindle seemed like a good fit for them introducing Alexa style TTS, but they've went for light and thin instead.

RE: Kindle Oasis

There must be quite a few of us buying this new kindle as just ordered one the black has a delivery date of 20th May and the merlot 20th July!!!!  I have had almost every Kindle they have released and still have most of them including Voyage . I rather like the fact that the oasis will last longer on a charge than the voyage and the lightness appeals.

Eek! I'm still using the very first Kindle model. Works fine. I'm a bit like Nigel, I get attached to things and don't like to just throw them away. But I really love that others go for the latest tech stuff because the world needs people like them.

Nobody can say for sure, but they've been following the 'Tick / Tock' release style with a new kindle one year, and an update to an old version the next. This year would be an 'update' year in that schedule, and the most likely kindle for a refreshed version is probably the Paperwhite. I'd hit the button and buy an Oasis now if I were you.
