Kindle keyboard 3g unable to connect to the internet

When I attempt to connect to the internet my kindle keyboard successfully connects but there is one problem! the page is blank? When I move the kindle 4 way controller/cursor around the screen there is just a black line? I have set to factory resets but the problem still persists? Has anyone else face this problem or is it time to say good bye to my kindle keyboard...

Runner, my KK3G has started doing exactly the same thing... I can see black lines on a blank white screen, but not amazon's home page. Sad

If I play around with it I can sometimes get it to show me a list of books (such as those for a particular author), but it's very reluctant to do so and means I can't use it to browse and purchase books any more on 3G... but since 3G has been getting slower and slower, I am wondering if it might work okay on wi-fi? I haven't tried that yet. Does yours?

Katherine my kindle keyboard now appears to be working fine but if you see my posts on the voyage (which I now own) i have encountered a new set of problems...now solved Smile

Is your KK running the latest firmware? Go to Home, press the Menu button, and then select Settings to see the current firmware version your Kindle has. If it is not version 3.4.2, then you should try updating it to the latest firmware to see if that fixes the problem.

Hi.

3 years on and I have just found my Kindle Keyboard running 3.4.

You know what's coming now don't you?,.......but I can't find a completed thread so need to ask the question.

It won't update to 3.4.2. I understand that I have missed the deadline, but I keep reading that there is (or used to be) a manual workaround.

After a couple of tries I can't get it to take on an update firmware, whether 3.4.1. or 3.4.2.

Is there any workaround or am I now the proud owner of an unscratched, seldom used fossil that's only fit for a museum.
