I want to get alarmed!

A simple wish for my Kindle is that it wake me in the morning.

As the battery is so good and there is no need to turn it off at night an alarm clock feature sounds easy but is it?

RE: I want to get alarmed!

This sounds like a farly simple feature for the kindle but I wonder if it would use more battery than meets the eye. AFAIK in sleep mode it uses zero battery as everything is turned off and the e-ink display uses none to display a still image. Perhaps then even a simple alarm would need the cpu running and eat up battery.

Just having a stab in the dark here.

I agree with this, also I don't know if it would have enough sound to waken me.

RE: I want to get alarmed!

Thanks for the thoughts lou.

I don't think the volume would be a problem as I recently downloaded a free Audiobook from Librivox ( At the Earth's Core by Edgar Rice Burroughs). This plays quite loudly even though I have my Dura Gadget cover on blocking the speakers.

MP3 Audiobooks are really good as they stop and start anywhere not just at the end of a section. My bought Audiobooks on disc don't do this. Progress and another reason for owning a Kindle. Kindle Smile

RE: I want to get alarmed!

an alarm would be handy, even if it's just a textual one for a reminder. say if I'm reading a book but have an appointment and don't want to get so engrossed in the book as to miss it... having the book pop up a note saying "get a move on or you'll be late" could be quite useful

It seems a few people would find an alarm useful.

Has anybody seen such a thing during their browsing?

Here's hoping.
