Frustration

Am I the only one now getting frustrated with the trend from certain websites, which I am already logged into, asking me to log in again with my Facebook, Twitter, or other account, or provide my mobile phone number, if I want to get to another area of the website. Otherwise I have to find my normal password for the site and log in again. It's driving me Arghhh!! Tantrum I realise that they want to link up with followers from these other accounts, but I don't want them to, mainly due to the risk of Spam.

RE: Frustration

It's two-factor authentication. This will increase in frequency over the next couple of years as it becomes more and more obvious that the traditional password is no longer even remotely secure. Personally I welcome it and have two-factor authentication activated on every account that allows it, because I've been hacked before and the repercussions of an email hack can be severe.

Put it this way ... a former colleague of mine had his email account hacked and had to reconstruct his entire life. The hackers destroyed his credit rating, drained his bank account, defiled his reputation on social media, and leaked sensitive work information. He was fired and couldn't get another job afterwards, largely due to the consequences of the hack.
