Rick, Facebook limits the number of people who see your posts unless you pay them! I believe the more Likes you have, the higher the visibility - but I'm not absolutely sure on that one. What I am sure of is that the more your Likers like your posts, the more they will interact, and interaction gets you more noticed. That's why I think it's important to share interesting and humourous stuff related to writing, not just tell people about your latest book. I block people who post nothing but "buy my book" ads. I'm still a Liker of their page, but I don't have to see their advertising clogging up my newsfeed.

I don't use my author page that much and haven't actively gone looking for Likers. It's on my "Do it!" list though. Probably the best way to get Likers would be to send requests to your personal FB friends - if you have a personal page, as well.

RE: Would I like your Facebook author page?

1.Don't know why I keep forgetting that I ought to ask you to like my 'Candied Crime' page these days rather than my Dorte Hummelshoj page - but I'm trying (when I remember, that is) to direct traffic to that one as we're beginning to publish other writers, and I can't keep up with THREE FB-pages (English, Danish + company page).

2.Like Jennie, I figured out that Scribbler's page was a profile, not a page, and sent a friend request - I'd be pleased to be friends with any KUFer who's not on facebook to send out proposals for marriage or the like Wink

What I Read

RE: Would I like your Facebook author page?

I've been clicking and liking all the pages that came up on this thread and I'm appalled at how rubbish my page is compared to everyone else's. It's no wonder no-one ever visits it. I'm usually quite good with technology but I can't seem to work out how to make photos the right size. Is there a good 'how to' page or blog or anything that can help me? I imagine most people would click straight off again!

RE: Would I like your Facebook author page?

I feel most remiss for not following so many of you, but have now shared the Like. It's a good way of keeping up to date with what fellow Kuffers are up to!

My own page is at https://www.facebook.com/davidwailing.

Like many of you, I'm sticking to using an author page for all writing-related stuff, rather than my personal profile.

RE: Would I like your Facebook author page?

I think I've clicked on all the links so far. By the way I will appear under my real name Sheila McCallum Perry as I can't use the name from my writer's page to do anything else on FB. But it's still me (I hope).
I am hoping this is the link for my writer's page but I've had trouble finding the right one so will come back and edit if necessary. I'm afraid it's quite boring though!
