RE: Free newspapers and mags for the Kindle

Wow this looks good just what I was looking for. But can you tell me as I do not always have time to read the paper every day can I download as and when or do I have to subscribe to the chosen paper?

Best wishes.

You get upto 5 "regular" deliveries a week (I chose a Friday and 2 papers on Saturday and Sunday)
You can "force" 3 deliveries a week, or you can download unlimited copies straight to your computer and move it to your Kindle yourself.
Those are on the free option. Kindleman has recently introduced some paid for services whereby you can have more.

The current issues are on my top page. Old issues automatically go into a "Periodicals: Back Issues" collection, so it stays all tidy.

Hello

Are you getting UK newspapers? I'm registered no problem and have downloaded a couple of US magazines but so far have not been able to find any UK newspapers. Would appreciate a heads upHelloHello

In calibre click Fetch News and scroll down to the language group you want e.g. English (UK). Click on that and a list of (currently) 36 options drops down. You then can opt to Schedule for Download or Download Now. Calibre then processes the latest edition and you see a job running in the bottom right hand corner of the window, click on that for details. Note jobs can take some time - e.g. I just downloaded the Huffington Post in just under 5 minutes. You can then use calibre transfer to your Kindle via the email built in to connect with Amazon's Personal Documents Service and your wifi or use USB.

Alternatively you can use Kindleman to download a calibre processed copy direct from/to you Kindle.

Thanks for that link. Looks quite impressive and as Kindleman has been unavailable for the past week, I think I'll go over to Webtoread.

Webtoread.com is the best send to kindle tool I've tested so far.
One can do the same with Calibre but if you are busy or travelling  this site is optimal.
I was also impressed by receiving quick answers to my questions to them.

They also implemented a nice tool and links for Kindle clean up :
- Kindle Cleaner app to delete old magazines and newspapers
- Kindle Cleaner Bookmarklet to delete old personal documents from your Kindle amazon Library
