US tax forms for D2D

I have an EIN and filled in the W8-Ben online at Amazon. Draft 2 Digital asks that you fax or email the form to them. If I already have the EIN in a letter from the IRS, doo they actually need the W8?
Is it necessary to print off the W8 (it's a PDF), only to fill it in, scan it back onto the computer and then email it? (I don't have fax.)
Thanks to those more tech-savvy for any help.

Lynda, I remember doing something like that for d2d... I printed off the W-8BEN form, filled it in, photographed it (I don't have fax or scanner) then emailed the photo to them. They sorted it all out by return of email, that same day.

I think they do need to see the form, but you could always email them and ask - I've always found them very helpful.

That's what I did. Mind you, my d2d sales haven't paid off the new ink cartridge yet...

Yup, afraid that's what they ask for, they don't have the facility to do it online yet.

Reviving this thread because I just had an email from D2D inviting me to sign up for online tax forms... but I'm not sure what they mean. I did the W8 thing a while ago and thought I only needed to do it once... anyone know what forms they are talking about? Is it the one they send at the end of the year maybe, stating if they have withheld any taxes?
