RE: Urgent Query about Countdown Deals!

Grace, you could try this advice I read recently:

"Contact KDP, then ask for a supervisor in the email. If you phrase the email correctly, you'll get the response from the supervisor instead of a standard Tier Operator. I've spoken with Amazon supervisors before, so I know they have a few and you can reach them. Unlike the Tier Operators who usually don't understand even the most simplistic questions or can't help even in the most basic things, the supervisors are really helpful. So, write to KDP Support and ask for a supervisor. Tell them that in your problem standard Tier operators can't really help, so you'd like to speak with a supervisor. The key is; do not mention in that letter what your problem is, otherwise the Tier operators will try to play the smart guys. So if you don't mention what your problem is, you're forcing them to forward your problem to KDP supervisors.

RE: Urgent Query about Countdown Deals!

Thank you, Lexi xxxx

Interesting learning curve. I still have nothing showing at my end but I have recieved a reply from Amazon. Apparently the Countdown deal is live in the US - but (and this is the learning part) - you have to select each country you want to run an offer in individually. Also, Verity's Lie was priced at $2.99 which was equivalent to around £1.83 in the UK - which does NOT qualify for the Countdown deal because the cover price has to be over £1.99 to qualify. Sigh.

I'm calmer now since at least the ENT ad won't be a waste. Is it just me or did Amazon not make the above T&C clear?
Thank you everyone for your input - the support you gave is much appreciated.

My sympathies as I fell into the exact same trap and complained bitterly to Amazon about their lack of clarity on the issue.

RE: Urgent Query about Countdown Deals!

I had to increase the price and wait another couple of weeks for the UK promo. However, on a positive note, it made it much clearer as to the impact of the KDP Countdown vs normal sales as my US sales peaked during the promo and my Uk sales peaked during the Uk promo. So not all bad news.
