RE: Daily Cheap Reads comes to UK!

I love this site. It's not nearly as big as http://dailycheapreads.com so I subscribe to both.

I noticed a couple of days ago that they have now added http://dailycheapreads.com/junior for children's and young adult books. The prices are in $ and the links are to the Amazon.com site but the listings give a good indication of reasonably-priced children's books available. Presumably they might start a UK version of the 'junior' site if the US one takes off.

I'm not sure I want my teenage daughter to be aware of cheap children's/teen books. I already have to hide the kindle from her on occasions when she fancies reading a book I have downloaded. If she starts to download her own onto it I am going to have a fight on my hands. I'm waiting for the "Mum can I have a kindle for my birthday?"
Good news about another resource, although I do find I get the same information from several different sources now. Better than missing out though.

Thanks for the link. Is under £6 really "cheap" though? I guess publishers are still trying to pretend an electronic file has the same overheads as a hardback book...

I'm not sure how useful this site is (at least to me trying to publicise an indie work) when it says it focuses on mainstream publishers and describes anything under £2 as 'supercheap'.

Rosen's site Indie Book Bargains looks much better and more useful. Anyone found Daily Cheap Reads to be better than it seems or have a different opinion?

Do you have to submit your books to the US and UK sites separately, or does one copy to the other?

Thanks for the positive feedback Steve. From an authors point of view, the more free sites out there, the more readers hearing about our books.

I believe you have to submit separately, Rosen.

I know I certainly had to do that for The Blue Hour, which has been up on the UK site now since the 12th of June.

Hope this helps. Smile
