Sorry to hear about your kitty, Paula, poor little thing. And yourself of course, hopefully things can only get better from now. Undecided

RE: What's the Most Stupid Thing You've Done Recently?

Stupid thing? Nope, doesn't ring a bell. I am, of course, perfect in every way. Turning several of my husband's nice dress shirts a funny grey colour in the wash the other day was entirely on purpose (he's now vowed he'll do his own washing, hehe.)

I did once slice a good chunk of my index finger off while cutting a banana, too, so I fully empathise with finger-related injuries. Hope yours feels better, Grace Smile

I'm alright, thank you Scribbler, but Misty is not very happy. Her wound is healing nicely, and she is still on pain killers that make her a bit sleepy too, but she HAS to wear the collar, which of course, she hates!
She gets a bit depressed, though I take it off as often as I can to let her clean. I only have to say no in a stern voice and she keeps away from the wound, though once or twice she's limped off to hide so she can have a quick go at it! She's not daft!!

She's spent most of today on my lap or snuggled next to me, so I had to stay still a lot today,  Reading Kindle   but she's worth it, and I think she's picking up great internet reception for us through the collar!!!

Definitely sounds like you are having all your bad luck in one go. A new year so things will improve for sure.
Your comment about the stairs reminds me of when I came downstairs backwards, hoovering as I went. I thought I'd reached the bottom and stepped into thin air - fell the last two steps and the hoover landed on top of me. Not pretty.

Ooh! Grace ouch! Though I had to read that twice, as I first read 'hovering' instead of 'hoovering' and thought what a neat trick!

RE: What's the Most Stupid Thing You've Done Recently?

Oh, Paula, you really are due for a run of good luck now! Your poor cat, too. Misty is obviously much-loved.

A couple of years ago I did the missing-the-bottom-stairs thing, and got a rotator cuff tear. It didn't really improve till I started physiotherapy months later. It's almost completely okay now, though.

RE: What's the Most Stupid Thing You've Done Recently?

Not so recent but - I came home after a big night out and instead of picking up the tube of eye-makeup remover gel, I slathered hair gel onto my eyes.  Luckily, I can still see to type this but oh boy, did it sting!

Well ladies, you appear to be trying to out-stupid us blokes! Tongue

Oh Paula, lots of TLC for Misty is definitely the way to go. I'm a total wuss when it comes to animals in distress. I could never be a vet, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

And Grace! Our very own hovering, hoovering, back-flipping wonder! Shocked

RE: What's the Most Stupid Thing You've Done Recently?

It sounds as if Misty is recovering well, but the whole thing must have been very traumatic, Paula - hope you do have a run of good luck to make up for it. One of our cats (George) had a paw amputated when he was a kitten as it was deformed, but he gets around really well and can still jump on to the kitchen worktop even at rather an advanced age and weight.

I fell right down the stairs from the top twice within about a year, both times after turning to talk to George at the top, but luckily I sort of slid down on my back and although I felt very sore the only damage was that I was black and blue for weeks!
