Subject change

I have found that the title to my thread has changed.

It did say something like 'Kindle Countdown Deal - Hide in Time' in the title'. I thought this was a relevant subject title because there's a few who are trying to see if the Countdown Deals work.

Now I find it just says 'Hide in Time'.  Er... what happened?  Was the title too long? How do I change it?

Click on the original post, Anna. Full edit. You should be able to change it then!

Thanks, Jonathan, but I've done that and it doesn't change. I had started a new thread with the subject,  "Here comes another Kindle Countdown Deal" and it is sitting in the subject line but I've now noticed that it is attached to an old thread of mine.

Oh, by the way, Amazon sent an add for one of your books in an email to me.  Thought you'd like to know that Amazon are working on your behalf!

Oh, bizarre. I'm afraid I have no other ideas. A mod should be able to help.

I never receive book ads (I must have deactivated them) so that's interesting to know. Thanks! Which book was it, just out of interest?

Amazon sent me one of those emails where they think they know what you'll like, half a dozen books, and yours was the top one. It was shortly after I'd bought one of yours (sshh...). So sorry, I've binned the email and can't remember the book.

I'm off to scream for a mod now.

RE: Subject change

If you change the title for a new post, it only affects that post, not the thread as a whole. To change the thread title, you need to go back to the first post and edit that. Or you can edit the title in the topic listing for whatever forum the thread is in.

But either way, do it *before* you post your new message, or it'll still have the old title.

Anna, the way I do this is to click on the New posts button at the top of the site, then hover over your thread title and hold the mouse button down. This makes the thread title editable and lets you change it.

'Curiouser and curiouser' said Anna. When I click on 'New Posts' only two come up. This one and Tim's Flick Carter post. Steve Robinson's post, the next one down on 'Today's Posts'. doesn't show. Just the two!
