What I Read

RE: An overweight dragon, daring deeds, romance, and no darned elves - 99p this week

Anyone not yet read my first ever novel, Torbrek...and the Dragon Variation?

*stares around, eyes narrowed*

Now is your chance, for less than you'd pay for...anything costing a pound!

Thank you, Anna!

I should explain to anyone who hasn't read it that Xantilor is a slightly overweight dragon who hasn't breathed fire for years and is persuaded out of retirement by Torbrek (a girl warrior disguised as a man, whose real identity emerges during the course of the book...)

I can only apologize, Joo. Trav Zander was the novel that gained me an agent - for six and a half days. Then she did a U turn and spent nearly an hour on the phone telling me how unpublishable Tor and Trav were to justify herself. Traditional publishing was the only option back then, so I decided I'd better change genres and write something that was publishable - Remix.

(Remix didn't get me an agent either...though I had an offer after I'd sold a lot, which I turned down.)
