RE: My Book Cover - Feedback?

Wow, well done! I think it's great to explore both worlds. I've had much more success (and monetary reward) from ghostwriting than writing my own things and self-publishing. It's nice to have a balance between writing your own things and writing purely for profit.

That really is good news. I didn't realise publishers were still interested in short stories.

The site I used was Silver Stream Press. Obviously it's not for everyone, and they want certain genres. I don't have anything else that would suit what they are looking for. They release a number of short stories plus they do take a big cut of the profit. I think it'll be the only time I use them unless I write something I think would benefit going to them, but I'm not planning anything like that at the moment.

Thanks Emily Smile I should have my edited story back to you by weekend.

Thanks Rosen Smile You're all inspiring me and I'm pretty sure once I get into a position of self publishing I'll be asking all number of questions many of you have probably asked yourselves about how to do this or that, how best to advertise etc, but I'll leave that for another day for now.

Congrats, Matt. It's probably a good move to have your feet in both camps.

Well done, Matt. That's jolly exciting for your first book! There's no way of knowing, but it'd be interesting to know your sales of the book as an indie vs sales of the book with a publisher. I guess the main difference is they can get your book noticed more?

I'll try and remember to do that and see if there's any difference. It'll be interesting to see. Although, my other stuff is very different in style and genre, which would make a difference also. I'll try and remember though and see if I can keep a note for when I self publish.

What I Read

Brainstorm, Bumpkinton and other works.

Without yet publishing my work I'm not sure I can be put in the author section of the website.  I've just updated my blog about a collection of stories that I currently have in progress. I had planned to release this Brainstorm story first but it's been 3 weeks waiting for an editor. I'll see what release date they suggest when they do get to me and if they say March I may decide to self publish one of my completed Novella's first.
My blog is at http://matthewdrzymala.wordpress.com/

I'm itching to get my work out there now and I was hoping they would have been back in touch by now. I'll be updating soon with a selection of links so if any of you have blogs and websites just leave a link here or send me a private message and I'll link you once I get around to sitting down and updating my writers blog.
