Graphic Novels on Kindle?

First off, I'm a newbie, so I apologise if I am posting in the wrong place.
I recently tried to find Art Spiegelman's Maus on kindle because I have to read it for a book club. After drawing a blank I went down to my local library and found a copy. I realised it was a graphic novel and I started wondering - can you even get graphic novels on kindle? If so, how do they compare to the paper versions?
I'd love to know the answer to this. Any ideas?

RE: Graphic Novels on Kindle?

I've read graphic novels/comics on my Kindle.
I don't bother anymore.
I read them on my tablet now Smile

They displayed ok, but some of the text was a little small, not unreadable though.
I do prefer them in colour, hence the Nexus, they would look even better on a 10 inch tablet.

Mine were converted to Mobi.
I've also read them on the PC, with the Kindle for PC program.

Thanks, I [Image: heart.gif] My Kindle, it's interesting to know it's possible to get graphic novels on kindle. I might stick to paperbacks for now - I am guessing that enlarging the display wouldn't really be possible for graphic novels.

I tried to change the text size, but it does nothing. I guess it's because it's like a picture already formatted for the page.

That's what I figured - thanks for testing the theory. The screenshot gives me a great feel for how graphic novels look on kindle - it's better than I expected. I'm excited now! I'll have to go and see if I can get any manga on my kindle...

You could try sending samples to it. Assuming you are looking at graphic comics off Amazon.

You need to make sure the graphic novel is formatted in KF8, and that your particular device supports it (the older eInk models may not). Then you''ll get panel views and text pop-ups, which make a huge difference to reading graphic novels.

As I ♥ my Kindle mentioned its much better reading graphic novels on a tablet than on the kindle.

I use an app called Comic Zeal on the iPad and one called Simple Comic on the Mac.  On windows have a look at CDisplay Ex.  These apps give a much better flow to reading graphic novels and comics, even zooming in on individual panels which make it much easier to read the text.
