Screen Problem

I have had a Kindle Keyboard for two years. Now the screen is blank for the top 3/4 inch, both in sleep and wake modes. This means of course that the top part of text cannot be read.
I am wondering if there is some fix or reset, or whether it is kaput.

RE: Screen Problem

have you done a full shut down and reboot? If that don't work try resetting to factory defaults ,if that don't work it's kaput and you need a new one .

RE: Screen Problem

There is no easy fix because that sounds like a broken screen. When part of the screen is blank, or frozen, the glass substrate underneath the top layer of glass has cracked. The only fix is to buy a replacement screen and do a DIY repair, not really worth the cost and hassle though. Especially as there is a chance that if you contact Amazon they will offer you a discount on a replacement Kindle.
