Snacks, I think. If I want to flavour apples, I shall use the syrup.

I made a courgette and onion leather last night. I included a stock cube. That might be used for soup. I'm experimenting.

I'm thinking about making wine in 2l plastic pop bottles. I have a demijohn full of elderflower wine, but had to buy another to rack it. Shock horror at the price. I need to drill a hole in a cork for the airlock.

I have discovered that sparkling water is 100X better for the cordial Smile

Hubby thought I was being daft when I suggested it but it improves it loads.

I have just diluted the Stevia-sweetened cordial with hot water to make a hot drink and it was rather nice.

I've just set some blackberry & apple leather and some apple leather to dry.

Did someone say crumble? I love it even more than pie. We've had rhubarb crumble, apple and gooseberry (which we call goosegog pudding) and now just waiting for the blackberries in the lane to look perfect. Won't be long... nom, nom.  Big Grin
At least all the foraging and preparing gets me out of my seat and moving around, then I can justify having custard or cream on my pud!

that is the recipe I just used - faithfully to the letter apart from reducing the amount of fat to flour for the crumble - I stuck to a 2:1 ratio.

I just had some now and it is absolutely gorgeous.

I'm another crumble lover. Lets face it there aren't many (if any) cake type things I don't like Smile

When I made a blackberry tart, there was a little pastry left over so I made some smaller ones, I had some crumble mix from last year in the freezer, so stuck that on the top. Mini crumble tarts yum!

I also add oats to my crumble and occasionally crushed nuts too.

Nope, just you, you're strange!
Smile

As a kid we would get the occasional pastry trimmings.
Bit of a cooking ritual like licking the cake mix bowl.
