First reviews for Falling Over

A couple of nice reviews for Falling Over on the US site:
"A nice successor to the author's previous collection, THE OTHER ROOM. Everington is very good at a quiet sort of horror that offers not violence but glimpses of nightmare lurking behind the surface of the everyday. Highlights here are the title piece "Falling Over," "Public Interest Story," "The Man Dogs Hated," and "Drones." If you've enjoyed the work of Ramsey Campbell, Robert Aickman, and Shirley Jackson (writers he cites as influences), give Everington's work a try; the present collection and his earlier titles are well worth a look for any fan of weird fiction." (5-stars)

"Entering Mr Everington's world is akin to discovering an alternative reality which, while superficially familiar, has some subtle but significant differences. That these differences exist just below the surface; hiding at the edge of things, nagging at you from the back of your mind, only adds to the power they wield.... It's tempting to suggest the influences behind some of these tales, to say they may be 'Aickmanesque' or influenced by Kafka, Shirley Jackson and so on. However, having read James Everington's previous collection, The Other Room, what struck me most was that he has been busy developing his own style; it can be safely said that these are proudly James Everington stories, and all the better for it. Make no mistake, this is some of the very best strange fiction around. " (5-stars)

RE: First reviews for Falling Over

Some more reviews:

"It’s a special moment when you read a new author and immediately get the feeling that you’re onto something special and such was the case here. The stories in this collection are evidence of great talent at work, both emotionally and intellectually stimulating."
Dark Musings

"It all works to a pitch-perfect conclusion. The world has definitely fallen over, but at least we have these stories because of it."
Lauren James

"The author obviously loves his chosen genre, the carefully crafted twisting tales are testament to that... Everington’s precise use of language and almost instant setting of tone made each story easy to fall into. And falling does seem to be the theme here... James Everington has created a fine collection in Falling Over."
Horrifically Horrifying Horror
