Thanks Kath. As Robert Robinson would say, 'ah, would that it were, would that it were'. The truth is it's been like that for some time. It does seem to imply that the number and quality of reviews (and, dare I say it, cover quality) has little bearing on sales. 'Easy Money' gets many, many more sales.

However, as I'm sure you know, it's still very satisfying to get good reviews.

I think you are right. Genre and subject matter are far more important.

Btw, I really enjoyed Slow Burning Lies, which, if I remember correctly, has sold well on .com. Any reason you haven't written more in the thriller genre?

Thank you very much, Mads. It's something I'm struggling with. I guess I'm at the stage when I should specialise, but am unsure which way to jump.

I've co-written another comedy which (for reasons I won't go into) won't be out until next year, and am just finishing off another historical 'Holocaust Echoes' novel, to be released soon.

But I'm getting a bit tired of concentration camps (as you do), so for my next project I'm torn between another thriller and another comedy - I'll probably start one of each and see which grabs my nadgers and won't let go.

Or, if you prefer a short answer, no particular reason except I haven't a bloody clue what I'm doing. Sorry.

What????

Who is he?? Name and address, NOW! -  Okay, yes, I've got his name, but you know what I mean.

This is outrageous. I'm going to write stern letter to Amazon. Then put it in the bin.

Right, I'll let him off this time, just so long as he doesn't give me any more 5* reviews. (And please, please  don't take that as a hint).

What I Read

RE: Matchbox Memories now 99c/77p

I've now reduced the price of this novel for a short period of time to the minimum possible.

It's a warm comic drama of family secrets and the effect they have on different generations, and it's gained an average 4.7 star average rating on both .com and .co.uk.

Thanks again to all on this site who have posted reviews.

Many thanks for the mention, Joo.
I sold 15 yesterday (which is about 15 more than usual), so a few of those must have been down to you, you absolute star.

Oh, and thanks to Rosen too as IBB featured it, which didn't do any harm.

Today is the final day of a kindle countdown promotion for this book, and I have to say it's been pretty successful, although no new reviews so far.
