Coming back to the discussion, I'm left-handed but can't actually use left-handed scissors... I have always used the right-handed ones in my left hand to cut fingernails, etc. Also, I use my computer mouse on both sides, swapping over from time to time to prevent the RSI thing - neither seems particularly "wrong" or "right" to me.
It's true the world is set up for right handed people, though! I am always getting stuck at strange doors and pushing the wrong sides of things. The most awkward thing I've found is voting booths and post office counters etc. that tie the pen/pencil to the right side - the chain is never long enough and always gets in the way. Why can't they provide two chained pens, one on each side? It's discrimination, that's what it is.
