Question how do i join a wifi network

Hi, I've recently bought a 3g enabled kindle and I am not very kindle savvy. I have looked for wifi networks and there are 2 -both of which are locked and need passwords. Can someone please tell me how I can join a wifi network and be able to use wifi via my kindle from home? I have wired cable broadband at home.
Many thanks

The two locked wifi networks you can see on your Kindle no doubt belong to people in your neighbourhood and they have correctly made sure they have locked them so that no-one else can use their wi-fi. If you don't have your own pc/laptop set up for wi-fi at home (ie you can use your laptop away from the modem), then you will have to stick to using 3G at home. If you do have wi-fi at home, then you will need to enter the password which is usually found on the back of your modem.

Certain public places, such as cafes, hotels etc have wi-fi, which you can access when there.

Hope that helps. Smile

You may find that the router your PC is plugged into has a small aerial? If so, stick this up and you have WiFi - but you will need to know the SSID (the name your router is broadcasting so you can "see" it) and password (often on the bottom of the box).
OR you may find the supplier of your router will upgrade you for free to a WiFi router.
OR you can buy a WiFi router for £30 to £50 (-ish) from PC World or Amazon.

OR you can find a paid for WiFi at most hotels.
OR you can find a free WiFi at places like Macdonalds or Starbucks.

OR: walk around to a neighbour, and ask if you can borrow their connection!
