Rosen Trevithick - Gamebook blurb feedback please

This post was last modified: 20 Oct 2017 03:12 PM by Rosen Trevithick.
Welcome to the brand new, shiny, all-singing, all-dancing Rosen Trevithick thread.

Please note: I often change the title of this thread to reflect current news but this is an ongoing thread, so for current news, see latest posts.

I thought I'd start a continuous author thread so that I don't have to start a new one every time there's some small news. (Okay, fine. I was getting jealous of Steve Robinson's epic 480 post thread.)

A quick summary of my news so far: I self-published a few books for adults and loved it. Then, I self-published a book for children and loved it even more.

This morning a received a lovely selection of images from some schoolchildren who've been making clay trolls. They made me stupidly happy.

Welcome to the forum, Rosen! You'll find we're a very friendly bunch here. (Well, Jonathan Hill can be a bit catty, but the rest are fine.)

Have you started writing a book? Good luck with it, and if you have any questions about indie publishing, let us know!

Seeing as the rest of your post was so funny, I'll let you off with just a few catty jokes as your punishment.

No no no! I've used lion/lying as a pun in my next book. (Edits draft immediately).

How lovely to meet so many new faces. Thank you for making me feel so welcome (even the joker.) I will let you know as soon as a question about self-publishing arises. In fact, I've got one now: how do I find a publisher?

Don't you know that THE ONLY way of becoming a Real Author is by sending out hundreds of pleading query letters over a period of at least a decade! Huh! These noobs know nothing at all! Wink

(By the way, just started reading Pompomberry House and enjoying it hugely ... plenty of giggles!)

I know! What total amateurs getting their books out there and selling copies when they could be begging other people to take a share of the profits. Tsk.

(By the way, thanks. I'm not sure if I knew you when I wrote it (last summer?) so you can read it safe in the knowledge that you haven't been personally lampooned - not that anybody got personally lampooned.)
