What I Read

RE: How do you sort yours....?

I download all of the books I buy onto my Kindle Keyboard, then once I have read them, if they are a book I am likely to read again it goes into my 'Books Read' collection, if not I am now very good and delete it. I do have a collection for Classics, but I actually enjoy scrolling through all my other books when I am looking for something new to read. On my Fire though, I only download a book if I am actually reading it on the Fire. Smile

RE: How do you sort yours....?

I keep my Kindle fairly book free. Once I've read something, I delete it on the device. I also delete ones that I decide I won't read on the Kindle.
All my collections, including 'may read again', are on my PC app.

I second Calibre. I store everything there first and copy what I think I will read soon to the Kindle, but I haven't been very good at reading them lately. I need to sort out categories in Calibre.

I have calibre, but have only ever used it to convert epubs, pdf's etc to a format theKindle can use.
I have never bothered looking into the collection sorting, syncing side of it.

RE: How do you sort yours....?

I have collections named by author, by series name and by genre.  Currently I have around 40 collections on my kindle.

I keep everything on my kindle, but I like to keep it simple & tidy.
I have 3 collections - to be read - finished & next to read.

RE: How do you sort yours....?

I've just bought myself a lovely new Kindle Paperwhite - so I organise my collections alphabetically by author's last name and then those books I haven't read yet are left.  When I've read one, I shelve it accordingly.  I like to think of myself as being a bit chaotic but ....

RE: How do you sort yours....?

I have a few collections - fiction and then different categories of non fiction but I have a 'read' and an 'unread' for each one (eg read fiction and unread fiction). I never thought of deleting read books. It would reduce the clutter but since I've got plenty of memory for now I think I will keep them on the Kindle in case I want to refer back to them.

It's a pity you can't have subfolders - then you could have a read and an unread folder within each collection.

Of course the system only works if I actually get round to putting the books in collections...
