What I Read

Saturday Live BBC Radio 4 featured Will Hadcroft!

Well that was a busy week, many of you know I work with author Will Hadcroft and last week he was invited to be part of Saturday Live on BBC Radio 4 along side author Mark Haddon . Mark was talking about the stage version of his book The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. As the main character is someone with Asperger's Syndrome, the producers wanted a 'real life person' with the condition and were given Will's name.

We overcame snow, ice and broken down trains to get there but it was worth it. Presenters Sian WIlliams and Richard Coles were charming and enthusiastic hosts. Mark Haddon was lovely and took a real interest in what Will had to say and in his books.
The producers had so much feedback they were unable to get it all in. This has resulted in more sales, visits to the website, Facebook activity and Tweets! There were book sales within ten minutes of the programme, which was rather exciting in itself.

If you would like to listen to the show here is the link http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01rft3s
Will's account of his day is on his blog here http://www.willhadcroft.com

By all accounts Mark's play is amazing so if you enjoyed the book and find yourself in London it will be worth a visit.
