New android app to send newspapers and magazines to your Kindle

Hi all,

I wanted to tell you about my new Android app, and hope that some of you might find it helpful.
It allows you to choose from a range of newspapers and magazines, and send them directly to your kindle - either immediately, or scheduled.

Please give it a go, and let me know what you think. It's still in beta, so I'm keen to get some feedback from kindle users, and keen to improve the app. Link below.

Thanks
Jamie

I'm interested in a dedicated app for distributing a specific magazine for Android and iPhone. Is this something you could provide?

...possibly. Is this for an existing magazine? Which one?
What would you want the app to do exactly? My current app basically has a list of newspapers/magazines, you choose which you want, tell it your kindle email address, and it will send it to your kindle.

It's for a new magazine called 'Indie Scene'. Many people from this forum have contributed.

The reason I want an app is so that people browsing app stores, who might not have heard of the magazine otherwise, may stumble across it.

It's a pdf so tablet users can read it without an app.

I see. Would the app then just basically fetch the latest edition, and allow you to open the pdf on your tablet? Or would you want it to send to people's Kindles?

More or less. Theoretically there could be more than one issue. It's free so no subscription management necessary.

I tried the Nook option to download as an ePUB and it worked well. It took a short while but eventually 9.4 Mbytes of well-formatted Guardian turned up in my mailbox. I transferred it to /My Files/Newspapers and it looks good. Got a few minor comments about the user interface for Nook / Kobo users which I'll email.

May I recommend that you nip over to our Nook / Kobo sister-site at http://nobooko.com and mention the app there?

Thanks for the feedback! It does take some time, but the scheduling feature should help with that. Would be very interested in the nook/kobo comments, as I don't have one to test on.
