Mrs H, however didn't find it quite so appealing.
I didn't see season 1, only 2 - but quite enjoyed it as well!

I'm having a struggle trying to get Mrs H to watch season 2. I pointed them out in Amazon and she just shrugged.
On a positive note she 'womanned up' ( to quote you Elaine) and read my horror stories at last. She's not a fan of scary things!

I find it a bit difficult to trawl through it to find something decent.

Ta.

Have you seen Beasts of the southern wild ? Absolutely mesmerizing.

Now we are on vacation from Walking Dead, we have moved onto Breaking Bad in our house. I have the first four seasons in a box set, and have watched the first five episodes of season one so far. Absolutely berloody brilliant. I cant think how I missed this until now!

Us too, Elaine and I'm missing it!
We've not tried Breaking Bad but heard good things about it. I'll take your recommendation and give it a go!

I have to say that so far it is turning into one of the best US shows I have ever seen. Dark, funny, sad - has a bit of a Quentin Tarantinoish feel to it.

RE: Lovefilm Instant hidden gems?

I've just finished series 1-3 of Breaking Bad.
Bryan Cranston's acting is brilliant and he is so well supported by the rest of the cast.
It does get progressively darker and I am undecided about series 4&5.
