Niew Kindle Fire HD TV Ad Pits Fire HD Against iPad

Amazon have created a new TV advertisement which shows the screen on the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 in comparison to the Retina display found on iPad models since iPad 3.

Whilst both displays are indeed very good quality, when it comes to raw specs, the iPad Retina display is a step ahead of the Kindle Fire HD, but in practical use, the average user will probably hardly notice the difference. To Amazon's credit, they don't knock the iPad display in any way and are in agreement that both Tablets have first class screens.

Kindle Fire HD Screen Resolution: 1920 x 1200
iPad 3/4 Screen Resolution: 2048 x 1536

One area where the Kindle Fire definitely wins out is with audio. The the iPad 4 is still only able to manage mono audio output through a single speaker (despite the Mini having stereo).

If you are into watching movies on your Tablet then the Kindle Fire HD offers the best all round experience.
