iPad Mini

Ok so it looks like I am the first person to post in this section Groovy

I decided to treat myself to an iPad Mini a couple of days ago, and OMG how fantastic is it!?! Up until now I've been using a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, which I loved, but this is something special. The extra 0.9 inch of screen makes a huge difference, especially as I like to surf the net a lot away from home. Even the Kindle App is better than the Android version (still no collections though, which is a little annoying.)

So, does anyone else have the Mini? I know a few of you have iPads, but what about the mini one? Or am I alone?

RE: iPad Mini

I have an iPad, Damien, which I love. My sister has an iPad mini, which she really likes. I like the look of it too. It's very neat while retaining all the iPad functions. The camera is tons better on the mini too.

RE: iPad Mini

How are you finding the controls on the iPad Mini? I'm a great fan of the 7" format - finding the full size iPad a bit too large. But I've heard a number of people comment that, because Apple simply scaled the user interface for the Mini, some controls are a little fiddly.

I have an iPad mini. I keep my character and synopsis notes on that and my books open on my laptop - much better than when I used to work with ten pages of scribbles next to me.

I've had no problems so far. It's definitely easier to manage than the Galaxy, especially when typing out a reply on here!

What note app do you use for that? The notepad that comes with it? Or one from the App Store?

RE: iPad Mini

Part of the reason I like the iPad so much is the 4 x 3 screen format - it's just *so much* better for doing productivity type tasks, and even for browsing the web. 16 x 9 as used by Android and increasingly used on laptops is simply the wrong shape for anything other than watching TV. If you have it in portrait mode it's too thin, and if you have it in landscape it's too short, like trying to work through a letter box.

Even though the screen's not so crisp as the big iPad, the lower weight and the fact that it slips into your (well, mine anyway) jacket pocket makes it a winner.

When it comes to note taking, i swear by Evernote - it syncs with everything and runs on everything, so it really doesn't matter what device you take with you...
