Hi Peter,

In that case, if you go to Apps, you should see one already installed called 'Personal Video' - this should play files in the Movies folder.

Newbie here! Been looking at this thread so decided to join the forum.
I downloaded Handbrake but it wouldn't rip all the films I wanted, but then I stumbled across a program called Freemake Video Converter and I've been able to convert everything I wanted (like another poster I delete after watching). And following on from that used their Freemake Video downloader, so have downloaded you tube videos (for my Spanish lessons) and added them to my kindle fire HD. (Use the android setting - the HD won't read the MP4 files from that converter).
