What I Read

1st Gen Kindle Fire - Now the UK Fire has launched and the Appstore is open

Now that the Kindle Fire (2nd Gen) has officially launched in the UK, I have done a few tests with the original 1st gen imported Kindle Fire to see if it is compatible and so far, it still all links through to US resources only.

One thing that does seem to work however is that it will allow you to download apps from the cloud that have been purchased from the UK app store via one of the new official UK Kindle Fires which means that if you are lucky enough to have both devices, you can download them on the new Fire and then be able to access them on your old fire via the cloud.

I'll be keeping an eye on this to see if anything changes.
