Second bite at KDP
I'm firing up my first Kindle novel, The Black Mile, for its second KDP free days from Thursday until Saturday. The first experience was uniformly excellent, with several thousand downloads and a jump to #1 in the Mystery/Thriller category in the UK store. The results in the US store were less impressive (maybe a thousand downloaded) and so I've invested a little this time with a handful of ads: Freebooksy, Free eBooks Daily, Bargain eBook Hunter, Frugal eReader and the like. Seeing as that's where the most Kindles are, I'm keen to give .com a nice solid kick up the arse.
The last promo led to steady sales of 25-30 a day for the month afterwards, and they are still holding up at that level.
I'll report back once I have a little more information, but the last run out was great fun, so fingers crossed for a similar experience.
