Firefox 16.0.1 and Posting Problems

If you have been using or automatically upgraded to Firefox 16.0.1, you may have noticed a bug where when trying to post, things like insert image, link etc have not been working.

This has now been fixed on the forum, so if you still encounter problems, refresh the page and/or clear your browser cache and everything should work as normal again.

Is it just me or has FF finally jumped the shark in the last few months. Hangs all the time, in Win + Mac; scripts bug out that didn't before; etc.

Yes, I think there's some kind of regression bug in the latest version. It was in the beta as well.

On my Mac it was playing havoc, even in safe more. What I did in the end was backup my profile, start with a completely clean on, copy in bookmarks, passwords etc and addons and everything's fine since (with the exception of the script bug)

RE: Firefox 16.0.1 and Posting Problems

I went up to FF 16.01 last Saturday. NB 16.0 was very hastily removed by Mozilla after its release last week because of a significant security flaw and 16.0.1 was rushed out out two days later. Which might explain some bugs. I was trying to use italics the other day and some some very odd looking code appeared but no italics. Working now obviously! Seems to me FF is getting way to many upgrades to quickly. I never use the automatic updates for FF even running Secunia PSI - always worth waiting a couple of days . Mozilla keep saying auto updates are default with whatever latest release but doesn't look like it to me.

The issue with FF 16 was a security problem. It was withdrawn and replaced by 16.1 which was exactly the same as 16 but with the security issue fixed....so there was no "rushed out" version which may have had bugs - just the security issue fixed
