Maybe you should should write in all foreign accents ridiculously phonetically:

Ah 'ello jo-nee, I do 'ope you 'av' a 'appy day - French

Velcome to my carrrrstle, Drrrink zee vine. Rrrrrelax, muahahahaha - Transylvanian.

Hayull dayum Jarrrny, dis iz kinda eazy maaaaan - American street slang.

Any good? Or yet more proof whilst I shall remain an unpublished fool? Tongue

RE: Foreign accents

Hi Johnny,

Be careful when using foreign accents, as some letters may disappear, as I found to my cost. You need to save the filtered web page in UTF8 format to ensure some of your foreign accents do not go for a walk. Below was the problem I encountered:

Problem in PRC file identified by Joo: missing ā e.g. mamāes; negāo, māes-de-santo
Open the word 2010 doc and save as HTML by saving as a Filtered Web Page. You should select the option to save it in UTF-8 encoding (At bottom of save as box: Tools > Web Options > UTF8)

Also, if the software you use to convert the HTML to prc gives you an encoding option, make sure you select UTF8.

What I Read

RE: Foreign accents

Thank you, George. I uploaded it as a Word Doc with no conversion as no issues showed at all with the Kindle previewer.
I gave up on the html as the images/zip file business would not work.

I will check the accents carefully on my Kindle tomorrow before promoting the book. But thank you, that info is useful as I will be dealing with html again.

Cheers!
