My Clippings

This post was last modified: 13 Oct 2012 09:29 AM by DavidWhy.
How do I prune My Clippings? I have, knowingly made one highlight/note, yet there are about 11 in My Clippings that I don't want there and don't know how they got there. Is there any way to delete them? The same could be said for archived items. they are things I deleted. I didn't want them archived. I wanted them gone.

thank you.

RE: My Clippings

I don't know anything about clippings as I never use them, but if you want to completely delete things from your archive, you need to do it via the Amazon website, log in and look for the Manage Your Kindle page. It's slow going though as you can only do one item at a time. However, you can do it via the Media Library on the Amazon.com page, and you can select more than one at a time: https://www.amazon.com/gp/ays/index.html?

Sadly no joy. It's either impossible, or too hard for my simple brain!!

What did you try?

Click this link: Amazon 'Manage Your Kindle' (you'll need to log into your Amazon account).

Once the page is displayed listing all your books, find the book you want to delete, hover your mouse cursor over the 'Actions' button on the far right, it'll then give you a few options:

› Deliver to my...
› Download & transfer via USB
› Clear furthest page read...
› Delete from library

Click the bottom one and it'll then ask "Are you sure you want to permanently delete this title", click yes and it should do so. You need to wait a few seconds for it to reload the page before you then go onto the next book. If you do it via the Media Library you can select a few books at one time and move them to the trash, though you might have to then browse the trash and delete them a second time from there.

Great thanks. That got rid of the Archived Items I didn't want. Now I just need to find out how to get rid of these 'clippings' whatever they are.

I think you can just delete them as you would delete a book.

No. That is what I would have figured but it doesn't let me. That just moves the cursor or gives me a definition thing. I think I am stuck with them. It's not the end of the world though. I would have taken it worse but I have just noticed that I have gone from being a Junior Member of KUF to a Member so I am on a high! People have called various synonyms for 'member' in the past and this is the first time I have been glad about it!

If you are happy to delete all of your clippings, I think Joo is right and you can do it from the home page the same as you would with a book. It's only when you are in the clippings that it'll bring up the cursor and give you definitions.

So on the home page where it lists all your books/collections and an item titled 'My Clipping'. Click the right d-pad to bring up the menu and it lets you delete the 'My Clippings' file. At least I have a very vague memory of doing that when I mistakenly ended up with some clippings (Joo's post rang a wee bell in my head that reminded me!).

I think you can edit in the file when you attach your kindle to your computer with the USB cable
