I really love these books. I have read them all twice. I just found out today that the new one, 'Odd Apocalypse' is out, but I am half way through 2 books already and have loads of others I am yet to read so I was wondering if maybe I should wait? I am kinda broke and it is £10. How long is it likely to take to come down in price to around £5? Like the others?

I know that amount probably seems petty and pathetic to you but I have been made redundant and all these E-books add up. I am dead broke.

I don't think worrying about spending £10 on a book is pathetic at all! My limit is usually £5, although I rarely spend that much on a book these days.

I was going to say wait until the paperback is out because that often reduces the Kindle price, but I see that the paperback is out already - and more expensive than the hardback, - something very strange there! Huh

I think I will just wait until I am DESPERATE and can't wait to find out what happens next and then buy it at whatever price. Oh, and on pain of death, if anyone reads it NO SPOILERS!!!!!

Oh I loved the Odd Thomas books by Dean Koontz (When did he drop the 'R'?). I'm sure that the last one I read saw Odd's demise, but it was a while ago, and I may have been mistaken. I'll look out for Odd Apocalypse though I'll probably wait for the paperback/e version.

Have you tried charity shops and the like? I don't mean your town centre Oxfam stores and the like - they can be rip-offs charging £3 for books you can buy new for £4 - but I've had some cracking reads for 50-75p at local minor charities, so many of them obviously haven't been read. The only downside is you can't be too fussy as the selection isn't there, but I've found many gems that I'd never have considered buying at full price.

Very much mistaken. The last book saw him saving the world in from Nuclear Russian terrorists in the supposedly sleepy town of Magic Bay. He made it out alive and is now onto his next act of heroism with the mysterious Lady of the Bell (I think I know who she is).

Anyway, I caved about 4 hours after making the original post!!! I couldn't take knowing that Odd Thomas was out there, adventuring, and I knew not where his gifts led him. I am glad I bought it!. I have about 8 books on the go at the moment so I am only 1/3 the way through Odd Thomas 5 but it is well worth the money.
