RE: Kobo ereaders hit WHSmithAs long as Kindle keep their basic model price down.. would recommend it over Kobo anytime! PS - I am not associated with either company.. I just know what I like!

RE: Kobo ereaders hit WHSmith[/quote] Hi GW.. Kobo had my full attention.. but failed at the hurdle - on actual ease of use. I am a very savvy tecno user (and can adapt to most things), but found it totally frustrating. Not that the basic Kindle is 'the best', but at least it has a more fluid feel and more solid construction. Just wondering what happens tho when the built in Li-on/litium? battery needs replacing PS - Still can't believe second hand kobos are selling for more than the new priced ones on Ebay - daily! Someone ought to tell people out there if you keep your eye open WHSmith's reduce the basic model to 49.99 from time to time!!! (In store and on-line But worth paying the extra IMO for a kindle after all (just glad they did reduce basic price to something I could afford in the end.)

I think at this point Amazon is to ereaders what Apple is to smartphones and tablets. There will be other contenders, but they'll be also-rans rather than actual competitors.Good to get feedback on the hardware though. I was worried about compatibility with the books I already own more than anything else (so not intending to buy one) but if they fail that test too then it really is a nail in the coffin. |
