Any examples of excellent 'blurb' that made you buy a book?

I'll start of with the first sentence of the blurb for 11.22.63 by Stephen King. Of course the fact the novel was by Stephen King was I big reason I bought it but the blurb was what convinced me:

"WHAT IF you could go back in time and change the course of history? WHAT IF the watershed moment you could change was the JFK assassination? 11/22/63, the date that Kennedy was shot - unless . . ."

I think it's because in just a couple of lines he's summarised the whole plot and got over a sense of how intriguing an answer to the what-if's could be.

As a strap-line, I think this is fantastic

And it wasn't quite the blurb, but the acknowledgements on the look inside and I just had to get this one:

"Also, I dedicate this book to hedgehogs. Because they're cool and endangered and because anyone who deliberately runs over one has a serious issue with the workings of their (most likely his) genitalia (gals got more sense than to run over Mother Nature most of the time)."

That made me want to read that book too, and I don't regularly read King. I kind of like the questioned ones. If done right.

Joo, I see you've finished Matchbox Memories - did you read the acknowledgements?

A spooky fluke if ever there was one.
