RE: Kindle Paperwhite Review : Imported to the UK - quesiton for Lou

Hi Lou

Very excited that this worked for you, and review was great. One question, I have an identical amazon.com and amazon.co.uk account details (they are linked). Did you purchase with a different amazon.com account (different email address to the amazon.co.uk account?)

I'm trying to work out if on registration which account it will register to me as my accounts appear to be linked and if this will be a problem getting it registered to .co.uk.

Any ideas would be welcome.

thanks

Stuart

Amazon have switched from infra-red detection of proximal digits to a capacitive touch-screen.

Thanks for the review, Lou. I'm wishing I had waited a few more months before buying my Kindle Touch, as the Paperwhite would be preferable to reading by energy-saving light bulb at night.

When I ordered my Kindle WhitePaper (Still waiting for mine to be shipped as it is estimated as Wednesday 17 October) I used my UK account details. It has got my email address.co.uk assigned to it and no problems.

When I log in to Amazon.co.uk it shows my WhitePaper on my managed Kindle devices. It does not have the serial number, but about the time of it being shipped it will be added. So go ahead and order it, just remember if that you need to use a service like BundleBox to get delivery of it. Because Amazon.com will not send any outside the USA. Without going through a 3rd party US Address.

Hopefully this is of help.

Hoorah!! I'm a few days late to the party but finally I can join the Kindle Paperwhite 3G brigade.

Love it. Looks sleek, faster response time when touching the screen compared to my Kindle Touch, and as mentioned by Lou its streamlined. Not so bulky as the Kindle touch.

Really impressed!

Looking forward to getting mine. I do find the touch is a little unpredictable at times. Response slow and sometimes jumps pages.
I have every kindle except the fire ( ipad user) I really liked my first white kindle and wish they would give a choice of colour.
I will keep my kindle keyboard and perhaps sell or give away if I find a good cause the touch.
What do you do with your old kindles????

I've got a stack of Kindles sitting on my desk. I have given my Kindle Keyboard away to a relative who is loving it. Now I need to decide what to do with the other 3 spares...

Do what I do... Cynically gift/loan the to the most virulent and vocal anti Ebook people you know. Then sit back and watch them become seduced by the practicality and awesomeness of the Ebook.

Hehehehe I've so far convinced 3 people who were very much "oh no I like the feel and smell of paper" whenever I explained I do too but find the practicality of the kindle and it's ease-of-use to be better suited to daily life these were the people who'd scoff and decry it was wrong.

All change now though!!
