Anyone use Publish Nation?

Apparently, they format your ebook (for Amazon), provide ISBN, and also format/publish a paperback edition (via Lulu) for £95.

Just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with them.

My experiences with them was truly disappointing. Lots of talk but poor service. I challenged them on slow responses and inaccurate mails and they dropped me instantly. They kept the money though.

David here from PublishNation
I am sorry for your disappointment and surprised to read your comments as this is not at all typical of the reaction we have received from our many satisfied writers, which can be viewed on our testimonial page. We are also pleased with the number of customers who return to us for their second book (and often third, fourth, fifth...and more) as well as those who kindly recommend us to their friends and fellow writers.
Our aim is always to provide quality support services to writers at affordable prices and to respond to particular issues in a timely and appropriate manner. Although it may not be possible to satisfy all requests, which would be impossible, we certainly do what we can to make working with us as convenient and enjoyable as possible.
Finally, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you every success with your publishing project.

@DavidPN

Address the actual situation and not copy/paste some lame generalist answer... that alone makes your service look even lamer.

You get what you pay for. There isn't a truer saying.

No author should expect much for £95. Realistically, that wouldn't even pay the deposit for a professional book cover design...

RE: Anyone use Publish Nation?

I’ve also had a very similar experience with PublishNation. The preparation of my book from the Word document that I submitted was smooth and efficient. However the ‘total’ marketing campaign has been absolutely ineffective, I have wasted £295. David does respond to enquiries but with ‘fob off’ emails which provide only vague information about what is being done (which I strongly suspect is very little). I had no illusions about having written a best seller but I expected to achieve some sales. My advice is this - think very carefully before you commit to paying £295 for a very sub-standard marketing campaign. My book has been marketed (since publication) by PublishNation on amazon at £6.99 for paperback version with other options available. I have no marketing experience but surely the £2.99 ebook option should be up front? Needless to say, I am massively disappointed with PublishNation.

RE: Anyone use Publish Nation?

Further to my recent post, I’ve now been unceremoniously dumped by David at PublishNation for having the audacity to request some details/evidence re the ‘work’ that has been done following my payment of £295 for the ‘total marketing package’. In common with the experience that other dissatisfied clients have described, I have received surly responses from David which outline at great length what PublishNation DON’T have to provide.
Using PublishNation has been an expensive error of judgement on my part. In addition, David’s extremely unpleasant/unhelpful attitude has eradicated the delight that I felt in completing my first novel and having it published.
Be warned!
