Respect and kudos to Lou for setting this up.

But, would anyone like to comment on whether it works?

Have you bought advertising space? Did it actually increase your sales?

RE: Promote Your eBook with KUF : Brand New System

From the feedback given to me personally by email from advertisers, I would say the following :

For free ebooks or KDP select promos it's fairly easy, advertisers have been very happy with their campaign and we have had many downloads and many repeat bookings.

For paid books, things are not so clear cut. Firstly there's all the general stuff like whether the book has mass appeal or if it's niche, how good the blub is and of course the cost. Secondly it's difficult to gauge because for a paid book, many people will download a sample rather than make a purchase on the spot, so actual sales can come much later. Again we have had a lot of repeat bookings, although more for mainstream genre books.

The reason the ads are priced a lot lower than many other sites charge for ads is so that authors can see it as a way of getting their name out there and also getting samples downloaded rather than an expectation to instantly sell loads of copies and get rich overnight.

For your particular book, I think it would be fine, but we do have people who have advertised things like "Herbal alopecia remedies for one-legged otters' and expected to become millionaires.

Blast, my otter is two-legged, Lou, so that book is no use whatsoever to me.

I have placed several ads and it is difficult to tell how many sales can be attributed to it, but each time I have placed an ad, I have noticed a slight increase in sales. Coincidence? Maybe, but I'm opting for it being down to the ad!

OK, I might give it a go.

Eight quid a week for the UK site…it’s hardly going to break the bank is it?
