Delete a book, but how ?

Question please, in fact two questions.

1) although she did it once after reading her first book, she can't find how to delete a book now.?

2) is it the same procedure if she finds the book is not to her liking?

I don't know which Kindle your wife has, but on my Kindle Keyboard, I highlight the book with the cursor, right click on the square button and it gives me the option of "Delete this book from Device". That means it will no longer be on your Kindle, but will stay on your Amazon account, should you ever want to download it again.

Or (kindle keyboard again), highlight and left click to get a delete box - with a yes/no just in case.
(and it stays available on Amazon in case you want it back).

RE: Delete a book, but how ?

First of all, thanks, she found the one's she wanted to delete, highlighted, lt click, up popped remove from this device and off it went. Just as you'd said.

Now, this is where I try to explain something.

It is my understanding there are a small variety of models of kindle, each of them presented in a slightly different way with controls in different places, hence when I asked the other day, if there was a section specific to the model we have, which is Kindle E-Reader with WiFi 6" E Ink Display I was led to this thread, where I rather thought everyone with this model "hung out" and then formed the opinion that all posts were specific to this model. Please don't think I'm being picky or rude, I simply need to establish that 1) I'm doing things right and 2) in the right place. Already my membership has seen me post in the wrong place and it needed to be moved. Just want to be correct.

Again,thanks to you both.

Islandman, you are doing things right and are in the right place.

Even though there are a few models and people often only have the one version, they still want to help as soon as possible.
I did tweak your profile so that the model is ticked so if people aren't sure, they can click on your name and it says there.

I rarely look at which thread a post is in and sometimes just pile in with "my" answer then forget they are not all the same.

thanks for that, glad that was received in the manner in which it was sent.

Not too sure if I will be posting much after tomorrow ( for 7 days) as I will be using my little used netbook as we will be away. It is a bit fiddly and the connection speed at our daughters is not great, but if needs must, I will. I shall still endevour to go through the freebies daily, but warned my wife she will have to be patient, lol.

I hope you have a good time at your daughters, and your wife has plenty of books already loaded to read while away. Smile

RE: Delete a book, but how ?

We have now arrived but little to read so far, (7 month baby here), but we do have another question.

When we arrived yesterday, we looked at the days free ebooks and my wife selected the first one, we clicked on download but it didn't come through. We clicked again, only to be told we had received it.

I am now of the opinion that because our daughters connection is slow, it won't come through, or indeed any other until we are back at home.

If that isn't the case, do we have to in some way pair the kindle up with our daughters wifi? and if so, how?

If you want to use your daughter's WiFi connection, go to Menu/Settings/WiFi Settings. It should show the WiFi's available to you. You will need your daughter's password though to access it. The password (which is a serial number) is usually at the back of the hub.

thanks, will do that. Today I have dropped and broken my charger so only have short time left of battery use, unless I borrow my daughters laptop till I can get to shops.
