REVIEW COPIES: Firestone (Book 1 of the Talgard Series)

This post was last modified: 15 Nov 2012 09:04 PM by Damien J. Nash.
Firstly, if this is in the wrong section, please move it. I found this thread http://www.kuforum.co.uk... which says the following is fine, but wasn't followed up by an answer as to where to post, so I've gone with my best guess.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would like to offer some free copies of my novel, Firestone in exchange for an honest review on Amazon (which you may also use for your blog if you have one). It is a fantasy novel suitable for "Young Adults" and runs to about 68k words.

I've not sold any copies to KUF members thus far and tbh I don't expect to (there's too many other good books worth reading out there before mine) so I've stopped trying. That said, it would be nice to have a couple more reviews up to help my non-KUF marketing, so yeah, if anyone fancies a copy in exchange for a review then please let me know.

Oh, and if anyone wants me to review their book, then I'll gladly help out.

I suspect part of the problem is we all have huge TBR lists. The sort of readers you want might not come on daily. Keep bobbing for a while and hope someone takes you up on it.

You'll probably have a lot more success on Goodreads where readers substantially outnumber writers. There's bound to be a YA group where the members are actively looking for books of your genre.

Not so much that - I would rather not feel "obliged" to write a good review for someone on this forum. I would be more than happy to take it on a freebie day, read it and then review it if i like it (and make a note to buy his next book) - and if i don't like it, quietly ignore it.

That's a very fair point too. I can imagine the "oh dear this is poo, what am I going to say about this?" scenario.

I've found a group on GR and asked for reviews, hopefully I will get some interest. Once I have a few reviews (hopefully good ones, who knows) up I can put together a free promo for it. It's pointless doing one with only 1 review.

As always, everyone here is very helpful and I am grateful for this. Groovy

Hi, I would have like to have read your novel, but I'm not a fantasy fan. Good luck with it.

Is that a generalisation to help get favourable reviews? Or have you read my sample and found it to be utter tripe? Blush
