Just want to confirm it wasn't me that downvoted that 2 star review! It was an honest opinion and people are entitled to their honest opinions! Omg

Re: nice review for my latest mystery

Thrilled to say that my latest New Orleans Detective Frank Renzi novel, NATALIE'S REVENGE, just got a lovely review from Feathered Quill Book Reviews. Here's an excerpt:
Readers following the coolest detective in literature at the moment - Frank Renzi - will be thrilled to know there’s a new crime for him to solve. This new tale begins in 1988 where a young girl named Natalie wakes up one morning to find her mother not there, and New Orleans police outside the door with very bad news.

Fast forward to 2008. Frank Renzi and his partner find a VIP shot dead in a swanky New Orleans hotel. The victim had gambling debts as well as a ‘nose’ for the ladies so there are many suspects. Renzi interviews the wife, who loves her kids but frankly doesn’t much care that hubby is gone. And…she has an alibi. Pushed hard to solve this high profile crime, Renzi discovers many suspects, ALL seem to have reliable alibis. Then another man is found shot in the head in a city park. And the bullet in his brain came from the same gun that killed Peterson.

Readers will sit on-the-edge of their seats when they follow Natalie who seeks revenge for what happened to her mother. Natalie is a truly intelligent and seductive character. Renzi jumps on her trail, but this may be the one case he literally can’t close.

This is one great author! From her delectable mysteries to her seductive look at New Orleans - as Renzi’s hunt and Natalie’s actions go beyond thrilling. Suspense readers will be saying: “We need more Renzi...STAT!” -- Feathered Quill Book Reviews

Ah, but does it have a full set? You ain't nobody until you've had I "Thank goodness is was free."

Actually, I've just had an idea for a scavenger hunt:-
A point for "Thank goodness it was free."
A point for "I wish I could give it no stars."
A point for "I found a typo."
Five points for "My brain explode. Now I'm dead."

RE: The full set!!!

A number of reviewers for What Happened to Polly commented on how the characters were so easy to relate to -- and then up pops a one-star saying, "the characters seem like they're from another planet".

Very well considered, methinks!

I would rack up the points on "Thank goodness it was free" easily. How many points for these beauties:

"I don't know what those 5-star reviewers were smoking while reading this book, but must've been some good stuff; that's the only explanation for their reviews I can think of anyway."

"I will have to keep the Authors name somewhere so I do not bother to read any of his other books."

"I couldn't wait for it to just end, to be finished."

Ha ha. All good suggestions.

And don't worry Jennie, my reviewers contradict each other all the time, particularly on the point of characterisation in my missing child book.

By the way, I downloaded What Happened to Polly yesterday after Joo recommended it. It looks great.

RE: The full set!!!

I haven't got a full set, but I have an entry for the hunt - "... having to wait until the half-way point for this major plot twist is just ludicrous in my eyes."

It's not half as 'good' as some of the above, but I wanted to play the game Rolleyes

As opposed to what, I wonder? Having the major plot twist in the downloadable sample?!

I'd say half-way was pretty early as plot twists go.
