Now, if I were looking at this from the other side I might think it's a sock-puppet review. However I have no idea who it's from. Personally, I think Eragon and Hunger Games are better, but I'll take what I can get.

Oh, and I didn't thank David publicly for his review, so thank you! Big Grin

Damien, whilst there's not much anyone can say to make you actually feel better. Most of us have had them at some point, it's s**t but its a rite of passage. Pin it on your scrivener corkboard and give it two fingers every time you feel the need. It might make you feel better!
In any case it's an anomaly compared to all your other reviews.

RE: Reviews for Firestone

Welcome in the club. But getting one-star reviews means you're a writer.

I found a two-star one yesterday on B & N. Text says "Cute", and "Clever use of names", but the reviewer gives two stars. So the rest must be stinking rotten, apparently? Well, as long as we also have readers who love our stuff...

Thank you, David, but I don't feel bad at all. I want at least one of each star on both .com and .co.uk Big Grin

Seriously, hope you don't feel bad, Damien - I got my first 1* the other week for 'The Lucky One' - a bit of a bummer but it happens and, like Firestone, it's far outweighed by the good reviews. It hasn't affected downloads.

Bad luck, Damien. One man's meat is another man's poison. One star reviews are demoralising but part of being a writer.

RE: Reviews for Firestone

I like how we've all come to view 1-star reviews as almost a badge of honour for being a writer! I completely agree, they're inevitable and nothing to be ashamed of.

RE: Reviews for Firestone

Yep, very proud of my 1 star review Tongue

The day will come for every author to get one, so am glad to get it out of the way, so to speak.

That said, if the next few reviews are also 1 stars I might have a problem Confused

Great attitude to have, Damien. You need a thick skin to be a writer - such as when your sales count doesn't move for a while, but then increases by 1 only to be refunded minutes later Angry
