Bookclub: Vote for the book to read during October

We have 6 recommended books this month - and all sound really interesting - whichever one wins, I certainly now have several more books I want to read!

You can vote for as many books as you like, but in one go (you can't come back later and vote again).

The poll will stay open until 30 September and the winner announced then. The discussion thread will then open on the 14 October.

Please note voting is open to regular KUF members only and authors should not vote for their own books.

Just voted. All the choices look good this month. I try to vote for only one but have chosen two - could have been three!

Tricky choice!
I feel obligated to vote for the one I suggested, but most of the others look tempting, too.
I admit to being baffled by 'The Cupboard Under The Stairs', the early leader. The first 5* review gushingly begins with 'This is my favourite book by this talented undiscovered writer' and ends with 'I can't praise this masterpiece enough!!!!!!!!'. As half-expected, the reviewer has only ever reviewed books by this author and gushed over all of them. The same applies to a number of the other rave reviews. Normally this is enough to turn me off a book, but Elaine has recommended it, as has an Amazon Top 1000 reviewer, so at least two voices of sanity have spoken in its favour.
As Susanne said, this list calls for the reading of several books, even if we only get to discuss one in the club.

I've read 2 books by Roger Knowles and enjoyed them, that's why I voted for it.
I agree, the reviews look dodgy, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad book.

Thanks for the sleuthing BJ. I did wonder a bit about it. Perhaps I should take the time to check this out more often, well at all, actually. Confused

After those comments I am now looking forwarding to reading The Cupboard Under the Stairs, unless there is a sudden rush to vote in the next few days. Smile

I too am intrigued by The Cupboard Under The Stairs. I reviewed The Absolutist a week or so back. What a book! My fave read of the year possibly. But it's not a cheery read!
