Kindle Fire HD Rooted Already
This has only been found to work on the Kindle Fire HD at the moment and not the other standard second generation Kindle Fire.

It's only been available in the US for a couple of days, but already hackers have found a way to root the Kindle Fire HD despite attempts by Amazon to circumvent this by including a locked bootloader with the device.
